Libby Lauer, Co-Founder

With more than 25 years of marketing and sales experience in the field of senior living, Libby has devised innovative and practical solutions to overcome occupancy and performance challenges facing senior living communities in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the U.S. With a track record of success ranging from CCRCs/Life Plan communities to free-standing Assisted Living Communities and Memory Care, both for-profit and not-for-profit, Libby has consistently delivered award-winning results in the following  areas:

Prior to founding Senior Source Consulting Group, Libby served as the Marketing Director for a pair of South Tampa assisted living and memory care communities owned and operated by Lighthouse Healthcare Group (now Angels Senior Living) where she improved occupancy at Adam’s House Assisted Living from 52% to 94% and secured reservations on all but two apartments; while simultaneously maintaining a 95%+ occupancy level at At Home with Friends Memory Care community.

Previous experience also includes serving as Director of Sales & Marketing for three highly visible Brookdale Senior Living Communities in the Tampa Bay area and delivered improvements to sales, occupancy, entrance fee revenues, waitlist creation, resident relations, and resident referrals including one community under her leadership (Freedom Plaza in Sun City Center) achieving 100% occupancy and being recognized as Sales & Marketing Program of the Year. Libby has also been recognized for outstanding achievement in academic settings including the Writing Excellence Award at Eckerd College, awarded to the top 1% of submitted writing portfolios each graduation year; and induction into Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society at the University of Tampa, an invitation-only honor society extended to top-performing graduate students at the university.

Libby credits her commitment to senior living to the fact that, as an immigrant, she grew up in the United States while both sets of grandparents lived in the Czech Republic (Czechoslovakia at the time.) Given the distance and government restrictions on visits, Libby saw her grandparents only a few times in the course of her life and, perhaps subconsciously, sought the fellowship and wisdom of seniors. From the book, Because They Care, published by American Retirement Corporation, Libby states, “I guess that’s why I’m so devoted to working with seniors. It’s a chance to make their lives better and a chance for me to connect with a generation I never knew as a child.”  

In her free time, Libby enjoys hiking, biking, and traveling with her husband. Libby holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Eckerd College in Florida and a Master’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Tampa in Florida.

Libby looks forward to helping senior living organizations be the best version of themselves to successfully deliver on their daily promise to the residents they serve.
